Kemah is part of the Galveston Bay area, historically not as populated as the West side of Houston outskirts but is fast catching up. The Galveston Bay area is located Halfway between Houston and Galveston Island. Residents have deemed this a favorite area due to the proximity to Galveston Bay with it’s boating and fishing, while still being within an easy commute into Houston and the Med. Center. The area is known to be the Third Largest in Boats per Capita in the U.S.
Kemah TX. is a small bedroom community located on the Galveston County side of Clear Lake just over the Kemah Bridge and bordered by Galveston Bay to the East. The Kemah Boardwalk is known as a major Tourist destination in Texas. The Boardwalk is open year around full of rides, attractions and a host of wonderful restaurants. There is also a year around Calendar of events for the community and area. Although small in population under 2000, it can swell to over 20,000 on the weekends when special events are being held.
Kemah residents enjoy the city being a Golf Cart Friendly area, ride to area stores and restaurants on your golf cart! Kemah is part of the Clear Creek Independent School District.
